I have turned down many lead gen agencies, AI agencies, marketing agencies, and all kinds of “growth experts.” I am sure you have this problem too.
Someone books a Teams or Zoom meeting with you, then sends a million follow-up messages, not respecting your time.
You join the meeting, and the first thing they ask: “Tell me about your practice. What services do you offer? Where are you? Who are you?” 😡🤯🙄🤦♂️ They start asking basic questions like they did zero research before the meeting. Sometimes it feels like they are asking what your dog’s name is 🐶 before they even understand your business.
You take time out of a busy schedule, join the meeting, and then they ask, “Have you watched our video?” Which runs for 45 minutes to an hour of nonsense. AI made it easy. Then they start asking questions like you are attending a job interview. I have hung up on many meetings like that.
Hey, it is an AI world. Use AI tools. Research me. Understand my business. Come prepared if you want my business.
That is exactly why I understand the pain. That is also why I and my team do things differently.
When someone books a Teams or Zoom meeting with us, we come prepared. We already research the practice before the meeting. We look at what they do, what kind of patients they serve, what problems they may be facing, and where we can help.
We do not use the meeting to ask basic questions. We come in with ideas, solutions, and a clear understanding of what may work for that practice. I am on most strategy and discovery meetings myself, so you get to talk to me directly, not just some salesperson.
Our mindset is simple. We treat you like you are already our customer before you even become one.
That means we show up prepared. We respect your time. We bring solutions to the table. That is why most of our Teams and Zoom meetings turn into business.
So we learned the lesson: be the change. As Elon Musk put it, “Some people don’t like change, but you need to embrace change if the alternative is disaster.” The world is changing, and many don’t. 🙂
